Dr. Autherine Vissy Sterling DNP, CRNP, FNP-BC

Family Nurse Practitioner Wilmington, DE

DelCare Health Solution, LLC

Dr. A. Vissy Sterling has spent several years using her personal and career experiences to help her patients with acute, chronic, and preventative care, providing them with the support they need when their life seems to be more than they can handle. As an immigrant, she knows and understands firsthand the importance of treating and caring for patients from different cultures and ethnicities. Dr. Sterling subsequently worked in several different areas of nursing while she continued her growth and experiences learning holistically how to best care for culturally diversified populations. While her focus is on family practice, she determinedly noted the need for further education to better prepare individuals in underserved communities so that they can become more marketable, independent, and financially healthy.

There is no single approach that works for everyone, so she believes that if she can impact at least two person’s lives daily, then she will be effectively improving the community’s health system over time. Dr. Sterling’s goal is to utilize her skills and clinical experiences to teach students, patients, and their families how to understand their illnesses and incorporate homecare to prevent further health problems while promoting the maintenance of better health. Her experiences include multiple areas of care such as medical, surgical, hospice, long-term care, emergency/urgent care, and family practice.

Dr. Sterling completed her Master of Science in Nursing specializing in Family Nurse Practitioner with a focus on Individuals across the Life Span along with her Doctor of Nurse Practitioner at Widener University. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Villanova University. To further align herself with serving individuals in disproportionate and disadvantaged communities, she decided it was necessary to get established in an area of need.

Dr. A. Vissy Sterling was born in Jamaica, W.I. and immigrated to the United States in 1994, where she lived in New York for six years before moving to Delaware in 2000. She is divorced and is the proud mother of one son whom she loves and adores immensely.
